Some simple tips you can follow to stay connected.
1)Since Internet speeds have been curbed down, turn off the images from your browser.
Use simple HTML based versions of websites whereever they can be found(like GMAIL)
Or use MOBILE versions, like "m.facebook.com"
For IMs you can use "m.ebuddy.com" (with a proxy if its blocked)
2)Change DNS Servers, use openDNS (208.67.222.222 / 208.67.220.220) or 4.2.2.2 / 4.2.2.3

3)Use SSL(https) of sites whereever they can be found (Gmail/Twitter), will give you privacy and even unblock certain websites

6)Have senstive emails to send? Use emails with encryption: http://www.hushmail.com/
